How did Fuse begin?

Fuse was a final-year project in 2019 and started out as a Manchester-only creative directory (with social media accounts). Since then, it’s slowly evolved and changed to look like it does right now and thankfully we’ve been able to grow our network beyond Manchester.

Why did Fuse begin?

The creative scene in Manchester felt pretty white-washed. Usually, creatives featured in the city’s exhibitions, events and talks were primarily from a white background. We decided to do something about it to create some change to diversify the scene and help represent underrepresented creatives.

Where is Fuse based?

Manchester, England BUT we’re growing our network globally!

Do you offer design or consultancy services?

Not really, no. If you’re looking for someone to collaborate with or need help creating your project, you can take a look through our various directories of creatives and directly contact anyone you’d like by clicking on their names.

Is Fuse self-funded?

Yes! We currently aren’t funded. Fuse is self-funded, self-run and makes no money through any of it’s ventures, other than through sponsorships, advertisments and with that, all funds go back into Fuse. Whether that’s maintaining the website or commissioning others to collaborate with. We’ve recently had a sponsorship through The Office of Craig and the funds from that partnership went towards commissioning creatives for takeovers and commissioning our speakers for ‘Speak-up II’.

How can we reach your audience/creatives?

Most of our network is reachable through our Instagram or Twitter pages – please feel free to tag/message us in anything relevant and we’ll re-share it! If you want to reach out to a specific type of creative, please look through our directories and directly contact them! You can also contact us directly to talk about advertising.

As an Organisation, can we advertise on Fuse’s website?

Yes! We offer the possibility to reach our audience. Please email us at fusedirectory@gmail.com.

Who can get involved with / collaborate with Fuse?

For individuals: If you consider yourself a creative and identify from being a part of a minority ethnic group, you can get involved - we’d love to chat.
